Overview

Homeopathy is a gentle and holistic system of complementary healthcare that has been used for more than 200 years. It takes a highly individual approach, considering the person as a whole rather than focussing solely on one particular symptom.

Homeopathic practitioners spend time building a detailed picture of each patient, taking into account their general health and wellbeing, medical history, lifestyle and individual characteristics.

Homeopathic remedies are selected according to the individual and are usually supplied as small tablets, powders or liquid preparations.

Why Homeopathy?

People are often drawn to homeopathy because of its gentle and individualised approach to health and wellbeing.

Rather than selecting a remedy simply according to a particular symptom, the homeopath considers the wider picture and chooses a remedy suited to the individual.

Homeopathy can be used by people of all ages and at different stages of life.

When to see an acupuncturist

You may choose to see a homeopath if you are looking for a holistic and individual approach to your health and wellbeing.

During your consultation, your homeopath will take time to understand your concerns as well as your general health, lifestyle and medical history.

Homeopathy is a complementary therapy and is not intended to replace appropriate medical care.

How to prepare for an appointment with your Homeopath

There is no special preparation required before your appointment.

It can be helpful to think about your current concerns, when they began and anything you feel may influence them. You may also wish to have details of any medication, supplements or other treatments you are currently using.

What you can expect

Your first consultation usually lasts around 60 minutes. Your homeopath will spend time getting to know you and will ask questions about your current concerns, general health, lifestyle and medical history.

After considering the information discussed during the consultation, your homeopath will select an individual homeopathic remedy where appropriate. Remedies are usually supplied as tablets, powders or liquid preparations.

Follow-up consultations are shorter and provide an opportunity to discuss how you have been since your previous appointment and to review your homeopathic prescription.
