My favourite thing about being an Acupuncturist and TCM practitioner

With the background of growing up in Hong Kong, just like many other families, my grandmother and mother were using Chinese medicine and some acupuncture points as a way of life to manage illness and maintain wellbeing. I was fascinated by the incredible therapeutic effects. That encouraged me to become a Chinese medicine practitioner.

Patients’ recovery and their smiles are most rewarding and invaluable.

Approach

Catarina uses very fine needles – as thin as a hair – which she inserts into specific acupressure points and along indicated meridians. Acupuncture needles are thinner than typical needles used for injections or phlebotomy. On insertion, some people may feel a slight pinch or tingling, but these sensations are usually brief.
Some points can be slightly more tender, but most people find the process relaxing once the needles are in place.
