I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor with a background in Psychology, Drama therapy, and Relationship & Family Counselling. I am also the author of the book ‘Healing through Dramatic Arts’ (Sovera, 2008) and ‘The Science of Forgiveness’ (in print, 2024). As part of my training, I attended several courses and seminars in arts therapies, coaching, psychoanalysis, and somatic approaches.
I have always been passionate about empowering individuals, couples and families to overcome the challenges that each life stage presents, and unlocking your full potential.
My counselling style is subtle yet profound. Our experiences are often shaped by others in ways that may distort our self-perception. Over time, this can lead to self-misrepresentation and the neglect of unrepresented aspects of ourselves, potentially resulting in distress. As a trained listener, a counsellor creates a safe space where you can freely express and redefine your experiences on your own terms.
I will work alongside you, facilitating a deeper understanding of yourself and your circumstances. This collaborative exploration of your thoughts and feelings paves the way for positive progress.
I employ a diverse range of techniques, including psychodynamic, Gestalt, cognitive, transactional analysis, and sensorimotor techniques, to cater to your unique needs. For trauma-related issues, I integrate psychodrama, CBT, and a gentle form of hypnosis into my practice.
My anthropological studies have given me a deeper understanding of cultural clashes and help me better meet the needs of people from diverse backgrounds.
As an integrative counsellor, I stay up-to-date with continuous professional development (CPDs). I engage with various therapeutic approaches, including relationship and family counselling, psychoanalysis, arts therapies, psychodrama, bioenergetics, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mentalisation-based therapy (MBT), coaching, and understanding disabilities and neurodivergence.
Throughout the years, I’ve never stopped questioning myself and embraced various personal development paths, including creative arts, spiritual programs and 20 years of parenting.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to its Codes of Ethics.
